Chitramayee - State Gallery Of Fine Arts is presenting an exhibition of paintings by the wonder kid Sharmishtha Ghosh, from 21st to 29th July. The displays contains about 24 acrylic and water color paintings on paper and canvas.
Sharmishtha is showcasing her recent works in a variety of genres ranging from landscape, still life and real life to portraits. Drawing inspiration from the mundane things of nature - the rustling leaves singing to the breeze, the deep blue sea kissing the sky, and the foaming waves lashing on to the shore - to the Ajanta caves, the Buddha of Ladakh, the Aurangabad fort and the Pangong Lake, her paintings have been enriched by the varied visual experiences she has had during her travels to different parts of India and abroad.
Sharmishtha is a student of class XII of The Shri Ram School, Delhi, and an alumnae of the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, during 1999-2004. She had a passion for colors ever since she was a child. Born in 1990, Sharmishtha started painted at the tender age of five. Primarily a nature and still-life painter, she does paintings that bring vigour, warmth and color to the arid canvas.
