On the occasion of its 1st anniversary, the Grill Room on Road No. 1, Banjara Hills, is organising a food festival of kebabs and curries, from 18th to 31st July. This 2-week food fest will have many spicy and aromatic dishes of Avadh being specially prepared by Chef Qureshi from Lucknow.
The buffet spread changes everyday and will have six varieties of starters, three non-veg and five veg main course dishes, with dals, breads and desserts as accompaniments. The kebabs include Kandahari Veg Kebab, Shammi Kebab, Pudina Kebab, Khumb Ki Shammi and Tandoori Aloo Palak, while for the entrees, get to choose from Makai Palak, Lauki Dahiwala, Bhukara Kofta, Panchmahal dal, and Chana Peshawri. The Lucknowi Shirmal and Varki Paratha can be chosen for the breads, with Muzzafar and Sheera for the finishing touches.
The Awadh cuisine of Nawabs is not for the calorie conscious, as the original and traditional dishes are rich and that's the way it is. Chef Qureshi has tried to maintain the original flavour of the cuisine and hasn't deviated from the old tradition, to suit today's palate.
