Chitramayee - State Gallery Of Fine Arts is organising an exhibition of paintings by Mohd Zaheer Khan, from 1st to 5th November. Zaheer is exhibiting about 25 of his works at the gallery.
Abdul Wahab Khan (brush name Mohd Zaheer Khan) is a commercial painter rather than a professional artist, and this can clearly be noticed from his paintings. With no specific theme, he has painted everything that his mind set itself upon - imaginary landscapes, portraits of beautiful ladies, animals and so on.
Zaheer was born in a family of painters - his father Mohd. Shamsuddin Khan and brother Afzal Khan, both commercial artists. He won the 2nd prize in the painting competitions conducted by Sri Sai Studio, Hyderabad, in which 700 artists from all over the country participated, in 2003. This is his first exhibition of paintings.
