On the occasion of the silver jubilee of the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation, Lepakshi is organising a grand exhibition of handicrafts from 2nd to 16th March. Called the National Handicrafts Expo, it is being inaugurated by the Minister for Tourism, Dr J Geeta Reddy, and presided by Mohd Ali Shabbir, Minister for Information & Public Relations, on 2nd March. Anjan Kumar Yadav, Member of Parliament; P Janardhan Reddy, Member of Leislative Assembly; and Y Srilakshmi, IAS, Secretary for Industries and Commerce Department.
The exhibition will feature about 200 artisans from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur and Assam exhibiting various handicrafts and handlooms. Here is a detailed list:

At the inaugural function, eminent artisans like Sripati (gold leaf painting), Eshwarudu and Sivaprasada Reddy (UNESCO awardees), Gurappa Shetty (Kalamkari) and Chalapati Rao (leather puppetry) will be honored by the Tourism Minister.
