One of the most ancient dance styles of the world meets its Gen-Next neighbour. Comr, discover of the "Essence" of dance, beyond all differences. A performance combining Indian Classical and Western Contemporary Dance.
The programme is the combined effort of two completely different dancers from different schools of dance, to illustrate that the "Essence" of dance goes beyond the differences.
Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad in association with Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant and NIFT present 'Essences', An Indian Classical and Western Contemporary Dance programme. In this event, three main aspects of dance will be experimented by the dancers in their cultural space and identity: Aesthetic, Emotional and Spiritual, the three notions closely intermingling in all dance forms.
Purnima Ashok Kumar (18) is a student of Bharatanatyam under Guru Kalaimamani Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant for the past 10 years. Pauline Delhomme (22) is a French woman who has been learning eclectic dance styles for more than 10 years. She is now working at the Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad and along with Purnima, will perform at this medley.
