An outer worldly overdose without any ill effects! We're talking about Suryanarayana's Carnatic Vocals. Shilparamam is presenting a carnatic vocal by Polaki Suranarayana on 26th August, as part of its weekend cultural program and coinciding with the auspicious Ganesh festivities.
This evening, Suranarayana would be presenting, Sri Mahaganapathim in Gowla Raagam, Giri Bouni in Bharava Raagam, Raghuvamsa Sudhambhudi in Kadhana Kuthuhalam Raagam, Nannu Vidichi Kadhalaku Ra in Reeti Gowla Raagam, and so on. He finally wnds with the Thillana in Brindavana Saranga Raagam.
Initially, Suryanarayana trained under Dwaram Durgaprasad in the music town of Vizianagaram and later on with Guru Mahamahopadhyaya Dr Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana. He completed his Certificate Course in Carnatic (Vocal) and Diploma in Music from Maharaja Government Music College in Vizianagaram and Sangeeta Praveena - MA in Music from Sri Venkateshwara University in the holy city of Tirupati. He would be receiving his Doctrate in Music from Delhi University, at a convocation ceremony to be organised in a month.
He was also being felicitated by the then Chief Minister of AP, N Chandrababu Naidu, with the Andhra State Youth Award for being Best in Music. He was presented with a National Scholarship Winner, awarded by Department of Culture, Minstry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi in the year 1996.
Suryanarayana is a veteran to many concerts in various cities of India, and to name a few in prestigious cultural associations as Rama Gana Sabha, Viswakala Parishad, SICA Kalasagaram, Madras Music Acdemy, NCZCC Allahabad. He is presently into imparting his knowledge to aspiring students of carnatic vocal music.
