Comedy Nite By Papa CJ: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR COMEDY NITE BY PAPA...

Kingfisher Premium, in association with Ista Hotel, is presenting a comedy nite by Papa C J, on 26th June. 31-year-old Papa C J from Calcutta, is a first generation Indian comedian, and has been performing on the UK comedy circuit as well as in India. He did his MBA at Oxford and worked as a management consultant in London. He took up comedy in 2004, and his material revolves around his experiences as an Indian in the UK.

He quickly became a successful regular at the Gong Show of the Comedy Store. His TV appearances include The World Stands Up on Paramount Comedy in the UK, BBC America in the US, and The Comedy Channel in Australia. He has performed in Asia, North America, Europe and South Africa, where he headlined the Indian Comedy Festival to rave reviews in 2007.

He won the You Must Be Joking competition at the Newbury Comedy Festival in 2005. He came third in the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year 2005, and was a finalist in the Laughing Horse New Act of The Year 2005 competition. He is also in the 2008 semi-finals of Season 6 of Last Comic Standing on NBC.

Apart from his comic career, Papa CJ founded the One Child charity, which works with underprivileged children in India. This charity is funded largely by his comedy. He has also scaled an 18,000ft peak in the Himalayas, trekked into the Grand Canyon, flown paragliders and jumped out of an airplane.
