Some people say Harry Potter is a boon to children's lit, because at least he got them to read. But we're not at all sure Potter has been much help, especially since Hogwarts has become such hot merchandising property that nobody needs the books anymore. Why read when you can gape, surf or trade? Well, because it's good for you.
Thankfully for Hyderabad, we are not in charge of luring the little 'uns to the world of books, Central Book Store is quite happy taking up that task. They are not only offering a 15% discount on all children's books, but also holding workshops, in order to woo the chilluns. Communication skills and handwriting workshops apart, the exhibition will also host an array of reference texts.
Is it just us, or does this sound more like an exhibition for parents? It's probably just us.
