On the occasion of the All-India Crafts Mela, Shilparamam is presenting a Carnatic vocal recital by V Bhargav Kumar Sarma, on 27th December. Accompanying him with instrumental support are Oruganti Rajshekar on the violin, V Shravan Kumar Sarma on the mridangam and K Prabhakar on the morsing.
Bhargav will start the evening with a recital Sri Mahaganapathi Prabhatamam in Gowla ragam, followed by Mamovathu Sri Saraswati in Hindola ragam, Shambo Mahadeva in Pantuvarali ragam, Mari Vere Dikkevaru in Latangi ragam, and a Shiva Stuthi in Revathi ragam, among others.
Born in 1983, Velide Bhargav Kumar Sarma is the son of Narasimha Murthy Bhagavathar, a famous Harikatha artiste and Carnatic vocalist. After learning initially from his father, Bhargav learnt from his grandfather Velide Harishankar Sastry Bhagavathar, and from Karikurti Nadacharya. He did his diploma in music from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. He is a registered artiste and a regular performer with the TTD, the Department of Culture, the Endowments Department, AIR Hyderabad and Doordarshan Warangal. He is a B-grade artiste of the Annamacharya Project of TTD.
