Sudhakar Memorial Under-14 Football Tournament

The Shastry Soccer Club is organising the Sudhakar Memorial Under-14 Football Tournament, from 22nd to 30th December, at the Lal Bazaar Football grounds in Trimulgherry. 12 teams are participating in this tournament, and matches will be played in the knockout format, as below:

22nd December
3:30pm - Rainbow Club vs K V Bolaram
4:30pm - Trimulgherry (B) vs Gymkhana

23rd December
3:30pm - Heroes Club vs V V Nagar
4:30pm - Gunrock vs K V Picket

24th December
4:00pm - St. Patricks (A) vs Gandhi Nagar

26th December
4:00pm - Trimulgherry (A) vs St. Patricks (B)

27th December
4:00pm - Winner of 2nd match on 22nd vs winner of match on 24th December

28th December
4:00pm - Winner of 1st match on 22nd vs winner of 2nd match on 23rd December

29th December - Semifinals
3:00pm - Winner of match on 26th vs winner of match on 28th
4:00pm - Winner of match on 23rd vs winner of match on 27th

30th December - Finals
3:00pm - Winner of 1st semifinal vs winner of 2nd Semifinal

Each game will be of 50 minutes duration, divided into two halves of 20 minutes each with a break of 10 minutes in between.

Shastry Soccer Club was started by die-hard footballers like Tony, Jesu Raj, Aleem Khan, Victor Amalraj and Mohan. They pick children from the nearby slums and coach them free of cost. To enthuse them, they organise under-16 and under-18 community level tournaments and inter-schools tournaments at the Lal Bazaar football ground.

This ground has been the hub of many football activities since the 1960s, and has produced some of the best footballers of those days, like Victor Amalraj, K P Dhanraj, Balaraman, Peter Thangaraj, D Kannan, P Ramaswamy, Aleem Khan, Tony and John Victor.
