Evolution cast and preserved in bronze. And the museum hasn't had to dig up these treasures, they've all found their way from 2nd century BC through the hands of many an art-lover.
The museum of archaeology that nestles within the lawns of the Public Gardens has a new addition, a bronze gallery with examples of excellent craftsmanship through the centuries. The idols belong to regions of Buddhist, Jain and Brahamanical faith, and are cast from five metals - copper, silver, gold, brass and zinc. So the bronzes are actually alloys. Temple bells also find their place here.
