The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing Brand Summit 2008, the 4th edition of the International Convention on Brand Building, on 1st & 2nd February, at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hotel Novotel.
The consumer doesn't appear as brand loyal as before, and increasingly the her attention span appears to be too short to get the brand message across. The retailers are not helping either - they exercise more control than would please the companies. And competition is more cruel than ever - they constantly innovate and come up with improved versions, or at least make it appear so to the consumer. Indeed, the brand doesn't appear as invincible as before.
In this context, therefore, more than ever before, brands today are fighting to stay relevant to the consumer. And hence the theme of this year's convention: "The Brand is dead. Long live the Brand!"
The summit broadly follows the case study format, and will cover Corporate Brands, Iconic Brands, Technology/Service Brands, Luxury/Retail Brands and Popular Brands. Some of the key speakers are:
