No young man who's decided to keep a book of morals in his pocket probably needs a book of morals, but that would be missing the point. Aiming to reform society is one of the most courageous and selfless choices to make in one's life, and deserves praise in itself. For this man it continues long after he himself is no more.
In continuing a 3-year tradition, Yuvabharathi, a cultural organization, is celebrating the birth anniversary its late member Dr Venti Krishna Murthy today. Dr Murthy was a prominent personality of Telugu literature. Awarded a doctorate for his work on "Kavi Samayalu", Murthy seriously took up Gurajada's writing "Desamunu Preminchumanna", and strove to educate the youth through that. He had even created a small pocket book for the youth explaining how to love and serve our country anticipating nothing in return. He also had a good knowledge of Urdu, and had translated Baba Fareed's preaching into Telugu.
As a part of his birth anniversary celebrations today, Dr Acharya P Yashoda Reddy, a retired professor and ex-President of the Telugu Adhikara Bhasha Association, will be felicitated. Reddy's contributions to the Telugu field are laudable. She will make a speech on Dr Murthy later.
After that, Dr Nagineni Bhaskara Rao, a member of Yuvabharathi, will speak about his recent book on diseases called "Andariki Arogyom". He will explain to the gathering 'how to avoid diseases and how to become immune'.
The Apna Bazar Chairman Mandadi Krishna Rao will be the chief guest. Please contact Kameshwar Rao at 374-5250 for further details.
