Is it a good thing to debutantes to have them share stage space on their arangetram? Isn't your first stage appearance something special? Well, we suppose expense considerations play their part, too. Ravindra Bharathi doesn't exactly come at a throwaway price, so perhaps this is a case of some economies of scale being attained.
Deepti, Bhavya and Mala, students of Chitra Narayan of the Bharata Natyalaya, are giving their first performance on stage today. They will start with Ganesha Vandanam and Pushpanjali, and follow it with 'Allaripu', 'Pada Varnam' on the Ammavaru and 'Mahadeva Siva Sambho' on Lord Shiva, in accordance with the traditional norms of Bharatanatyam.
Solo performances by Deepti, Bhavya and Mala will follow, with Deepti presenting the Annamayya Dasavathara on Lord Srinivasa first. Bhavya will then present Sri Rama Namamu Yemi Ruchira, and lastly Mala will praise Sri Krishna and the peacock circlet on his head. In the end, the trio will present Balamurali Krishna's 'Thillana' on Lord Krishna.
