What's the next best thing to being a high flier roaming the globe like it were a village? Being the wife of one. And here's a case in point. The lady has doubtless made more of all the sojourns than the husband, and Harry Bellafonte would be proud of another lady who's smarter than the man in every way.
For the fifth year in a row, Habiba Khan is holding her annual show of some 1,000 odd objects of artifacts ranging from small figurines to huge flower vases. Now settled at Dubai, this lady, an interior designer, had a natural taste for such curios. Husband Ikram Khan's job with a US software company gets Habiba to travel a lot, and this connoisseur of art has, over the years, collected a whole lot of assorted things on her visits to countries across the world like France, Germany, Syria, Cairo, Jordan and Turkey.
Habiba's collection of Bohemian vases is unique as they have a 22-carat gold plating and porcelain embossing. Her wide range of artifacts includes Turkish lampshades, French flowers, porcelain figurines, the hand-blown glass flower, porcelain dolls in elaborate Victorian gowns, cut glass, tumblers, fruit bowls, vases, candle stands, sweet bowls and tiny Russian figurines in the shape of butterflies, fish and horses.
All the artifacts are for sale now, and the price ranges from Rs. 150 to over Rs. 6,000. Please contact Habiba Khan at 666-6208 for further details.
