On the occasion of its annual Brahmotsavam celebrations, the Sri Ranganatha Swamy Mandir is organising a festival of music and dance, from 13th to 20th February, at the temple premises in Nanakramguda. The 8-day festival will feature temple and classical dances, and music, in addition to the daily rituals, as below:
13th February
7:00pm to 8:30pm - Kuchipudi by disciples of Dr. Vedantam Ramalinga Sastry from Kuchipudi village

14th February
11:30am to 1:00pm - Dhvajarohana
4:00pm to 6:30pm - Bheri Puja and Devata Avahanam
7:00pm to 8:30pm - Kathak by disciples of Guru Rohini Bhate
15th February
7:00pm to 8:30pm - Bhajans by Sreetama Ghosh
16th February
11:30am to 12:30pm - Abhishekam of Goddess Lakshmi Devi
7:00pm to 8:30pm - Satvik veena recital by Salil Bhatt
17th February
11:30pm to 1:00pm - Abhishekam of Lord Ranganatha Swamy
7:00pm to 8:30pm - Bharatanatyam by students of Preksha
10:30pm to 11:45pm - Kalyanam
11:55pm to 12:30am - Unjalotsavam

In addition to the above, there will be Bala Bhogam between 8:15am and 8:30am, and Bali Harana and Pallaki Seva from 11:00am to 12:00pm and 8:45pm to 10:30pm daily, accompanied by ritual dances (Vilasini Natyam) by Kanupriya Maheshwari, Madhavi Mala, Pujita Krishna Jyoti, Usha Kiran, Srinivasulu, Purvadhanasree, Yashoda Thakore, Anupama Kylash, Sanjay Kumar Joshi and Swapnasundari.
The Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple is situated in Rangbagh, near Nanakramguda, and is estimated to be over 350 years old. The temple is the first and only active temple of the present day which has re-aligned rituals of worship with traditional dance. This bold initiative was taken in 1996, and marked the beginning of the new chapter of Indian dance.
