Designer wear is the elitist's definition of clothes from Mars which cost the earth. 95 Parklane showcases this inter-planetary wear in a 3-day long exhibition.
This exhibition displays the collection of Neelima Lal, a NIFT graduate. The line is titled Aakarr and is made up of hand-crafted fabrics. Mangalgiri cottons, khadis, cottons and viscose-cottons are pre-dominant here.
Salwar kurtas, dress material and dupattas in Kalamkari prints, block prints, Ikkat and hand-painted wear are the theme of Aakarr. Vivid colors, khadi-prints and a contemporarized touch to traditional paintings and motifs are prolific here. The prices range from Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 8,000.
