12th Golden Mile Open State Road Race: Events in Hyderabad

Robert Frost had many miles ahead of him - you have just one, before you graduate to the Olympics.

The Athletic Coaching Association of Hyderabad is organising a Golden Mile Open State Road Race at the NTR Gardens today. The minimum age limit to participate in this road race is 10 years. This is a one-mile race and is being conducted to select the athletes for the national level championships.

There are a total of 9 categories in this competition. They are 10-12 years boys, 10-12 years girls, 13-15 years boys, 13-15 years girls, 16-18 years boys, 16-18 years girls, above 18 men, above 18 women, and veterans. 10 members from each category will be selected for further coaching. They will also be given a cash-prize along with some other gifts.

The registration for this competition is on the spot. The rules and regulations for the competition will also be announced at the venue. Around 1,000 people are expected to take part in this mile long run. The chief guest for the occassion is the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, Dinesh Reddy.
