H S R Datla Memorial Prize Money Chess Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

The Dronacharya Chess Academy is organising an open category chess tournament at the Vasavi Club. This chess academy is affliated to the All India Chess Federation. This 3-day tournament will be operating on the Swiss format. The player will be judged on his/her points rather than on the number of wins and losses. Each participant has to play a total of 9 rounds to enter the finals.

The total prize money for this comepition is Rs. 15,000. The tournament is being sponsered by S R Kumar, in the memory of his father H S R Datla. The first prize for this tourament is a cash-prize of Rs. 3,000. In addition to this, there are also another 20 prizes to be won.

Girls and boys in the age groups of 10, 12 and 14 years, with the highest recorded points, will be given special prizes. A total of 100 people are expected to participate in this competition. The registration for this chess contest closes at 5:00 pm on the 7th of July.
