What is the best tribute that a disciple can pay his Guru? Okay, next to what Ekalavya did? Well, we are not sure either, but here's one that ranks pretty high.
Nada Bharathi, on the occasion of its 7th Foundation Day, is organising a violin recital by R Dinakar, on 12th October at Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika, the mini-hall of Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, Chikkadpally.
Ramaraju Dinakar is a disciple of N C Krishnamacharyulu of Vijayawada. He is an A-grade artiste of AIR, Vijayawada, and worked as a railway employee in Secunderabad. He has given various concerts in Andhra Pradesh, and has accompanied, as a violin compere, various music vidwans.
Dinakar will be accompanied by P Srinivas Gopalan on the mridangam and Janardhan on the ghatam. The concert is being organised in memory of N C Krishnamacharyulu, a noted violin exponent and music composer.
Nada Bharathi was established on 21st October 1999 by P Srinivas Gopalan, a young mridangam, ghatam and similar instruments artist. The organisation has about 500 concerts and 22 festivals to its credit, with the primary aim of encouraging upcoming artists.
