Sutradhar is presenting a solo performance in English by Arka Mukhopadhyay called Shreds And Patches, on 4th November, at the Saptaparini premises on Road No. 8, Banjara Hills. Shreds And Patches is a solo performance piece devised from the plays and sonnets of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, other literary sources, original text, and contemporary media such as blogs. It is an exploration of identity and its loss, of love and brutality, of alienation, and of love and loss, through the universality of Shakespeare's genius. It is told through a style that combines movement, gesture and storytelling.
Arka Mukhopadhyay is the founding member of Logos Theatre, Bangalore, and teaches theater at the Mallya Aditi International School. He is a poet, director, performance artist and experienced workshop leader, and has conducted various workshops across age and societal groups, both for the public and the corporate sector.
He has presented solo theater and spoken-word-based performance pieces in different places, including Bangalore, Pune, Bombay and Calcutta.
Logos Theater is an exploratory outfit committed to negotiating the difficult terrain that lies at the crossways of theatrical process, movement, spontaneity and the subconscious; as also to discovering new landscapes opened up by dialogue between performance arts and the contemporary media arts.
