As part of the ongoing All-India Crafts Mela, Shilparamam is presenting a Kuchipudi dance recital by P B Pallavi, P B Vaishnavi, Apurva, S K Jaya Keerthana, Meghana and Katyayani, on 26th December. The recital starts with a Shubhodayam, followed by Gobbillu, a praise on Goddess Tiruppavai, Annamacharya keertanas Tandanana Ahi and Kulukaga Nadavaro, a Tarangam - Govardhana Giridhari - and a Tillana in Valaji.
The orchestra for the recital will be by P B Krishna Bharathi with the nattuvangam, V Hema with the vocals, Sridharacharya on the mridangam and Shiva on the violin. The dance items have all been choreographed by P B Krishna Bharathi, and the dancers taking part in the recital are all her disciples.
Krishna Bharati is the Principal of Pallavi Academy Of Fine Arts and a Kuchipudi dancer, who trained under Vedantham Prahalada Sarma and is now under Dr. Shobha Naidu. She is also an M A in Dance from the Hyderabad Central University. She conducted a workshop of dance at Washington DC, and has given various performances there.
She has been conferred upon the titles of Natya Visharada, Samskruti Ratna and Natyasri. She has choreographed several dance ballets for her students, and has since been teaching dance and music at the institute.
