At an age when most girls are still fussing over sweaters, 3 girls are tonite making several people forget the cold. Shilparamam, as part of the on-going All India Crafts Mela from 16th to 31st December, is organising a Carnatic vocal duet by the Pasumarti Sisters today, the 11th day. The accompanying musicians for the recital are Pasumarti Phanibala on the violin, V Sridharachary on the mridangam and Srikanth on the kanjeera.
The sisters, Pasumarti Chandra Bala and Pasumarti Sai Deepika, will start the recital for the evening with two Varnams, one in the Saveri ragam and the other in the Sarasooda ragam, followed by these recitals:

The Pasumarti sisters, Phanibala, Chandrabala and Sai Deepika, are daughters of the renowned Kuchipudi dancer Pasumarti Seshubabu and Vainika Raja Rajeshwari. Phanibala is learning the violin from Peri Sriram Murthy and is pursuing her Diploma in violin & a B. Sc. in Computers. Chandrabala is learning Carnatic vocal from Jai Sharada and is doing her B. Sc. in BZC. Sai Deepika is learning both vocal and Kuchipudi from her father Pasumarti Seshubabu, and is also a nattuvangist. She has a diploma in dance and is doing her B. Com.
Chandrabala and Sai Deepika have been singing since two years, and are gradually gaining fame. They have performed in many places in Hyderabad, including the Nallakunta Ramalayam, the Shankar Matham, the Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha and Shilparamam. Phanibala accompanies vocalists. All three of them have completed certificate courses in music in their respective fields.
