With the opportunity cost of reading - giving up movies, TV, the Net and more
of that omnipresent blah - having soared, you would've thought that that of reading
itself would go down. Nah, there's the egos of the publishers and the writers
in the track. And so the discounts seem to be emerging a trend, to get the turnovers

Walden is one of the largest bookstores of Hyderabad in terms of the number of titles it keeps and the sheer floor and shelf space it allocates to books. And the store is planning to celebrate its 11th anniversary, which falls on 26th of this month, till the 6th of the August. During this period discounts of up to 10% on books, a special discount of 30-80% on some assorted books, and a 10% discount on CD-ROMs will be extended to customers.
