Ugadi At Ravindra Bharathi: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR UGADI AT RAVINDRA BHARATHI

The Department Of Culture, Government Of Andhra Pradesh, is celebrating this Ugadi on a grand scale with a host of literary and cultural programs throughout the day, at the Ravindra Bharathi. There will be Panchanga Pathanam, Kavi Sammelan and a Kuchipudi dance ballet as part of the celebrations.

The celebrations start at 10am with the Panchanga Pathanam by Acharya C V B Subrahmanyam, Head of Department, Astrology, Telugu University, followed by recital of Vedas, felicitation to Vedic scholars, presentation of Ugadi awards, Kalaratna awards and awards to agricultural scientists, and release of the agricultural panchangam.

The chief guest for the morning session is Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He will be accompanied by his colleagues, including Speaker K R Suresh Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman A Chakrapani, Minister for IB, Tourism, Culture, Museum And Archives Anam Rama Narayana Reddy, Finance Minister K Rosaiah, Agricultural Minister N Raghuveera Reddy, Electricity Minister Mohd Ali Shabeer, Rural Development Minister Dr. G Chinna Reddy, Rajya Sabha members K Kesava Rao, P Madhu, V Hanumantha Rao, Rashid Alvi and Mohd Mozam Khan, Members of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi and Anjan Kumar Yadav, and Director of the State Cultural Association Dr. Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam.

The evening session starts at 5:30pm, with a Kavi Sammelan chaired by the Director of the State Cultural Association Dr. Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam. The participating poets are Jwalamukhi, Patibandla Rajani, Ramachandra Mouli, Bharadwaj, Dr. Devaraju Maharaju, Chillara Krishnamurthy, Dr. N Aruna, Pinni Venkateswarlu, Shikhamani, Dr. S V Satyanarayana, Jwalita, Dr. Sumati Narendra, Vadrevu Chinna Veerabhadrudu, Dr. Deana Sastry and Shajahani. This will be followed by a talk show on eye donation by Nidamarti Lalita Kameshwari and Kalibhatla Rama Kumari.

The evening ends with a grand Kuchipudi dance ballet called Andhra Kala Vaibhavam by Natyacharya Krishna Kumar from Kakinada.
