REVIEW FOR UDAYA BINDU SANGEETA VIBHAVARI

Tonite, there's a lot of popular Telugu film music live at the Sabha. More alluring, however, is the guest list.

Yuvakalavahini is organising a grand musical nite called Udaya Bindu Sangeeta Vibhavari, this Wednesday at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha. Renowned amateurs like Udaya Bindu, Vinod Babu, Bhaskar, Pavani and Ramana Bharadwaj will sing some new and old melodies. The music is by Vinod Babu and group.

On this occasion, Udaya Bindu will be felicitated. The chief guest of the evening is Gnanpeeth awardee Dr C Narayana Reddy. The other guests are CEO of Maa TV, K S Sarma; theater personality and President of Yuvakalavahini, Saripally Kondal Rao; music director Veenapani; and song writer and music composer Vandemataram Srinivas.

Yuvakalavahini was started about 31 years ago, by a group of theater lovers and personalities like Saripally Kondal Rao, Y K Nageshwara Rao, K R K Murhty, Patro and Lanka Laxmi Narayana. The association organises various cultural programs like musical nites, dance programs, classical music programs, plays and literary programs, and till date has more than a thousand programs to its credit.

It has staged some landmark plays like Sramanakam, Vikramaditya, Ashoka and Netaji, which were received with wide appreciation. Awards such as the Gopichand Literature Award for the best writers and the K V Reddy Award for the best cine directors are being given since the last 20 years, in addition to theater, youth, TV, film and media awards.
