See the after story of the happily-ever-after couple, Pooja and Rohit.
After the stupendous success of the screening of the collection of short films, 'Women In Cinema' and 'Shortcuts', the Shortcuts Film Club is presenting this month's theme called 'The Indian Connection'. This festival is being conducted to promote the films of India that do not fit into the Bollywood framework. This month they have chosen to screen four short films at the Prasad Labs Preview Theatre.
True Love Is Just Filmi, by Bernd Luetzeler, is an analytical experiment on the Bollywood films' aesthetics and narrative forms. The movie is slightly narrative and consists of the Bollywood stereotypes and cliches. The movie occurs in Bombay, around the year 2003. A bright and sunny afternoon on the Cross Maiden Fairgrounds, Pooja bumps into Rahul and falls in love with him. But their love doesn't last long. Soon their love fades into futility. Situations reincarnate. Pooja and Rahul don't even realise that they have become the victims of the filmi masala formula that starts taking control of their lives. The rest of the story consists of how they work their way out of this trap.
This film was screened at the Berlin Asia Pacific Film Festival at Berlin. Bernd Luetzeler has won the prestigious Hans W Giessendoerfer - Newcomer Award In Germany.
