Thailand's food draws inspiration from the Indian flag. Find out if it's true in this paradise.
The Paradise Lounge of Taj Krishna is presenting a 10-day Thai food festival, starting from today. This four course meal starts with salads and soups, and includes the main course, rice/noodles and the desserts.
For the soups they have Yum Koong, a Shrimp salad with roast curry paste and Thai herbs; Som Tam, which is a young papaya salad with Thai herbs; Yum Sum Sai, a bean salad with Thai herbs; Larb Moo, ground pork salad with Thai herbs and crunchy rice; Yum Woon Sen, a ground chicken & shrimp salad with yum dressing; Yum Taley, seafood salad with tum dressing; Yum Momuang, a raw mango salad with crunchy water-chestnuts; and Yum Woon Sen Phak, veg salad with woonsen noodle.
In the main course, for the non-vegetarians, they have Gaeng Kiew Warn Kai, a Thai green curry with chicken; Pla Rad Prik, which is a crispy fish with tangy basil sauce; Pe Phad Prik Thai, a crispy lamb with young pepper-corns; Kai Nam Mun Hoey, chicken with mushrooms, pimento and oyster sauce; Gaeng Phed Pla, a famous Thai red curry with fish; Pe Phad Prk Shod Vollappa, lamb cooked with Thai spices and sweet basil; Kai Med Moumang, which is stir fried chicken with dry chillies and cashewnuts; Pla Phad Nam Prik Pao, a crispy fish with roast curry paste; and Gaeng Kiew Warn Pe or the Thai green curry with lamb.
For the vegetarians they have Phad Phak, garden fresh vegetables with fresh garlic sauce; Man Jain, delicately carved potatoes with bell pepper in ginger pepper sauce; Gaeng Phed Je, Thai red curry with vegetables; Khao Kaprao Khao Phad Warn, baby corn and mushroom in chilli garlic sauce; Fock Thong Kapprao, crispy pumpkin with chilli garlic sauce; Gaeng Phed Sapprod, Thai red curry with apple; and Phak Tung Ngok, sauted bean curd and bean sprouts; Tohu Phad Namprik Pao, stir fried bean curd in roast curry paste; and Gaeng Kiew Warn Je, Thai green curry with vegetables.
In the rice varities, Khao Prao, steamed rice; Khao Phad Je, Thai fred rice with vegetables; and Khao Phad Sapprod, Thai pineapple fried rice are also available.
In the desserts section there is Tub Tim Grob, crunchy water chestnuts in sweetned coconut milk; Fock Thong Sankaya, Thai pumpkin custard; Khao Neaw, Thai sticky rice; and Fock Thong Sankaya, Thai pumpkin custard.
