Missing Rocky on the screen? Worry not. You'll get more than just a punch at the Independence cup Boxing Championship. The championships for seniors is going to be held at Lal Bahadur Indoor Stadium on Independance day.
This event is for all boxers above the age of 17 years and is only for the Hyderabad district. There will be 11 weight divisions and in each of these there will be a silver medal and gold medal awarded.
For the first time ever in boxing championship, there will be cash prizes given away to the winners of each division. You can expect a ton of muscle and a lot of punching power, since over 75 boxers are expected to show up for this event.
The chief guests of the event are going to be MS Raj Thakur (chairman, SAAP) and Kamala Vardhan Rao (IAS), who is the Vice Chairman and MD of SAAP).
Registrations begin at 7 am and is soon followed by the matches and will last through the day. The organizers intend to conduct many championship events like this throughout the year in case the event attracts a good crowd and appreciation.
