A gripping football tournament where a few of the best school teams butt-heads. Looks like the football fever hasn't still died down. Few of the best teams are ready to clash head-on when they face each other in the Inter-school football tournament.
All the teams are divided into two groups with eight teams each. These teams will lock horns in a knockout tournament spread over nine days with the finals on the 19th of august. Looking at the teams, its almost undeniable that this is going to be one mega battle on the football fields.
Here are the groups and the teams. Group A - Don Bosco High School, Mehboob School, Kendriya Vidhyalaya Picket, Model Mission School, St Andrew's High School, Oakridge International School, E & L Matrisri, Abhyasa School. Group B - St. Joseph's High School, Ivy League Academy, Hyderabad Public School, Gurukul Vidhya Mandir, Army School, St. Mary's High School, Government School Trimulgherry, St Patrick's School.
The first matches from the 10th to 14th of August will be the knockout matches where each till will face off another team fromt the same group. The winners of these matches will compete in the Quarter finals on the 16th and 17th of August, with the semi finals on the 18th and the Grand finale on the 19th of August.
Winner of the tournament will get a shield from the sponsorors of this tournament. Winners of each match will get trophies. Every participating school will be given participating certificates. Chief Guest of the event will be P Gouri Shankar, Secunderabad Cantonment Board Member with the Guests of honour being P Rajendran, President, RR District Football Association & Victor Amalraj, Ex-International Football Player.

This is the best part of the sporting culture that we can experrience in Hyderabad. I really appreciate the event co ordinators for the efforts that they are making in bringing the sporting culture back involving school children in big tournaments like these. Hope these kind of events gets maximum attention from Hyderabadis unlike the same old disco events. Cheers to the organizers.
