The children of today are the circulation drivers of tomorrow, and so it doesn't harm to show them who's good, believe the propagators of the NIE (Newspapers In Education). For the kids it's been mixed experiences, as the controversies show, but everything's welcome about things like this. They're free, they're positive and they're rewarding, for the kids and for the parents.
The Hindu is conducting a 2-day workshop on art and painting for children in the age group of 8 to 15 years. Padma Reddy of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hyderabad, will conduct the workshop.
The workshop is exclusive to schools that have enrolled themselves with The Hindu under the NIE program. The program is aimed at making the children realize their innate talent in the field of art, and express it in the form of paintings.
Entry is free to the workshop. The organizers will provide the colors, drawing sheets and other material. The organizers have sent notices to the principals of various schools in the city to send two of their best students to the workshop.
Enquiries can be made with P Ranga Reddy, The Regional Manager of The Hindu, Hyderabad. Please contact 340-3902 for further details.
