The Aakruti Vastra Exhibition is an event that took place between 01-Sep-2002 and 05-Sep-2002 in Hyderabad.

PREVIEW FOR THE AAKRUTI VASTRA EXHIBITION

The Crafts Council of Andhra Pradesh, a voluntary non-profit organization working
for the benefit of craftsmen and for the revival of languishing crafts, is organizing
'Aakruti Vastra', the annual exhibition of textiles from master weavers and designers
of India, for a period of 5 days. Padmashri Jagdish Mittal will inaugurate the
exhibition.

The exhibition will feature a variety of saris for sale from different parts of India. Exquisite cutwork saris and tanchois from Benaras, Kerala handloom saris, patolas from Gujarat and intricate Banadinis from Rajasthan among others will be on display here.

On the occasion, the Sanmaan 2002, an award for eco-friendly textiles to commemorate
the centenary of Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, will be presented. The Crafts Council
will also present awards to the eligible weavers. Please contact the venue for
