These people sure are trying hard to bring it in. 5,108 songs for "the new dawn" is pretty persuasive. But where do they see it? Or is it that thing about only the faithful ones?
The Renaissance Artists and Writers Association (RAWA), the cultural wing of Ananda Marga, is organizing a symposium and a cultural evening based on Prabhat Sangeet (songs of the new dawn). Prabhat Sangeet is a collection of 5,108 songs in eight different languages, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Bangla, Urdu, Mangahi, Mithili and Agika.
The songs have been composed and set to tune by philosopher Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. Eminent classical singer B Subramanyan, Lalita Dantale Kurulkar and Acharya Priyashivananda Avadhuta will present the songs.
The head of the Department of Dance of the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Alekhya, and her troupe will perform dance drama in Hindi, Path-O-Pathik, scripted by Acharya Haratmananda Avadhuta.
On the occasion, Central RAWA Secretary Acharya Bhaveshananda Avadhuta will felicitate the Andhra Pradesh Official Language Commission Chairman Madugula Nagaphani Sharma. Loksatta convener Jai Prakash Narayan will be the chief guest, and P Uma Maheswar Reddy, Principal, Nizam College, will be guest of honor.
