Summer Camp For Children: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR SUMMER CAMP FOR CHILDREN

Butterfly Fields, run by IIT and IIM grads, is organizing a summer camp for children of age 6 years and above, from 27th May to 31st May, in Brahmam Talent School, at Yousufguda. The activities include the following experiments that the kids will be made to perform:

Shoot A Reel
Experiments on the process of converting potential energy into kinetic energy: elasticity, conservation/transformation of energy, projectile spring balance, Hooke's law, least count of scales, mass vs. weight

Musical Balloon
Introduction to electromagnetism: vibrating membranes, how speakers work, voice boxes, DC motors

Jet Car
Experiments on Newton's third law, Boyle's balloon and Boyle's law, in the preparation of a jet car by using some tools

Pull-Back Car
Conservation of energy, linear motion, circular motion, elasticity, steam boat, Newton's third law, specific heat capacity of substances

Cranky Doll
Conversion between different forms of motion: crankshaft, turbines, how electricity is generated

Airfoil
About logistics: streamlined bodies and their shapes, bridges, structures that can carry weight

Atomic Configuration
Electronic configuration of different elements, valency, flywheel, inertia of motion

Pinhole Camera
About camera working process and lens: virtual/real images, power of lenses, Archimedes screw, centrifugal force, its application in planetary motion

Barometer
About atmospheric pressure: measurement of pressure, rocket launcher, pressure, thrust, projectile, valves

Thermometer
Measurement of temperature, bellows pump, pressure difference

Paper Protractor
Measuring angles, similarity of triangles, pin-hole camera, virtual/real images, power of lens, inverted/erect images

Make your Scale
Preparation of scale with paper: rational, irrational numbers, inter-conversion between scales

The fee for this summer camp is Rs. 2,000, and the timings are 8:30am to 12:30pm.

Butterfly Fields was founded by IIM graduates Sharatchandra and Praveen, in 2005.
