Jawahar Bal Bhavan is conducting a summer camp from 24th April to 5th June. The camp includes training in different performing arts like bharatanatyam, kuchipudi, kathak and folk dances; Carnatic vocal, Hindustani vocal and light music; tabla, veena and mridangam; drawing and painting; karate; and indoor games like chess, carroms and table tennis, apart from yoga and physical training.
The regular staff at Jawahar Bal Bhavan will conduct the classes, for children in the age group 5 to 16 years. The camp focuses on developing creative talents, and will have many games and personality development programs. It will conclude on June 5 with a Vasanthotsavam at Public Gardens, where children from all the centers will present a variety of cultural programs.
The fee for this camp is Rs. 200, and the timings are 10:30am to 5:00pm.
The Jawahar Bal Bhavan is a popular landmark in Hyderabad, especially for many adults who spent many a summer there. It trains children in physical education, arts and crafts, tailoring, wood craft and clay modeling. Recently, photography and computers have been added to the roster.
