The Art Of Living Foundation is conducting a 6-day workshop for children of age 8 to 14 years, from 2nd June to 7th June, on yoga, pranayama and Sudarshana Kriya, at The Times Of India building. The workshop will begin at 6am and end at 12pm each day. The fee for the workshop is Rs. 1,500, and the funds collected from the camp will be used for seva (service) projects.
The Art Of Living workshops are user-friendly methods for improving the quality of life. They are practical and effective training programs that help aggressive and frustrated people experience calmness and inner clarity. The workshops also provide training in the Sudarshana Kriya technique, a universally popular breathing exercise followed in 150 countries now.
Research on breath shows that a common man utilises only 30% of his breathing capacity, but by learning Sudarshana Kriya it can be taken up to 100%. The Kriya includes two simple yoga techniques - pranayama and poorna yoga. Pranayama is a technique to govern the breathing process, and poorna yoga includes the practise of simple yoga postures.
The Art Of Living Foundation, founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is an international non-profit spiritual, educational, charitable and humanitarian organization active in more than 160 countries around the world. It offers innovative programs that are aimed at eliminating the ill-effects of stress, raising awareness, creating a sense of belonging, restoring human values, and encouraging people from all backgrounds, religions and cultural traditions to come together in celebration and service.
