Like it does every year, Gandhi Gyan Mandir is conducting a 7-week summer camp - Grishma Sibiram - for children, from 14th April to 7th June this year, at Koti. The aim is to help get the kids out of their boredom(!). The camp offers an array of classes - yoga, drawing, music, painting, dance, handwriting, crafts, spoken English, quiz, elocution, games, stories, sports, hynotism, magic, meditation, skating, naturopathy, aerobics, karate, health principles, judo, computers, mehendi and doll-making - and all under expert guidance of well-qualified teachers & instructors.
The camp promises to offer an entirely new environment - full of joy and pleasure - and a know-how to build a strong body and mind, help in coming in contact with many fine arts, development in many directions and an understanding of the ancient Indian cultural heritage. It also includes a complete health check-up, and picnics and competitions to add more spice. Each day, there will be a healthy vegetable lunch for all the participants.
The timings of the camp are 10am to 5pm everyday, and the fee for this 40-day camp is only Rs. 2,500, which includes everyday lunch for the participants.
The Gandhi Gyan Mandir building was started by the frontier Gandhi (Khan Abdul Gaffer Khan) on 27th December 1969. Thousands of people, young & the aged, men and women, have been trained in the Yoga Kendra and nature cure center of the place - hundreds of people attend these everyday. Tokarshi Lalji Kapadia served a lot in many ways in developing this yoga center.
