It's anybody's guess if Sobha Naidu ever stood under a Parijata and wished for success, but a lot of Kuchipudi fans couldn't have asked for much better of the tree. She's back, but only backstage this time.
The A V Subba Rao Academy was setup with the aim of promoting artists and art forms like Burrakatha, Harikatha and Oggukatha, and classical forms like Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. The academy's motto is to tour various places to promote Indian culture, both within and outside the country.
As part of its 12th anniversary celebrations, Subba Rao's Academy of Indian Arts - Hyderabad and USA is presenting Sri Krishna Parijatham, a Kuchipudi dance ballet performed by experienced artists. The disciples of Sobha Naidu will be the performing artists on this day, while senior artist G Padmaja Reddy will don the role of Satyabhama.
