Splash '08 At Durgam Cheruvu

Treasure Island is organizing Splash '08, a fun-filled youth festival, at Durgam Cheruvu. The festival will take place from 3rd to 5th October, 2008. There will be food, music, dancing, glamour and, in general, lots of fun.

The schedule is as follows:

Oct 3rd - Fashion Show by NIFT (5:30pm onwards)
Oct 4th - Live performance by Baba Sehgal
Oct 5th - Live performance by Parikrama

What's more, every night, 10pm onwards, the audience will be treated to Disco Dandiya by DJ Saannj from Mumbai & drummers from Gujarat.

Baba Sehgal

Baba Sehgal aka Harjit Singh Sehgal, is an iconic Indian rapper who was famous in the mid 90's. He is credited as the first Indian rapper to jump on the indipop bandwagon, and released an album which got frequent airplay on MTV India. He had the distinction of being the first Indian music video ever to be shown on MTV Asia (which was broadcasting out of Hong Kong at the time). He made a one time acting appearance as the main lead (hero) of the Bollywood film 'Miss 420'. He has hosted the TV show 'Superhit Muqabla', which was aired on DD2. He has also worked as a stage performer and a model.

Parikrama

Parikrama was officially formed on June 17, 1991 in New Delhi. The band often fuses Indian classical music instruments like mridangam, tabla and flute with conventional instruments like guitar, drums and keyboards. Parikrama has more than 1000 concerts to their name, which have been held all over India in more than forty cities and participated in various international competitions held in India and abroad.
