The SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) Hyderabad Chapter is organising a 2-day state convention, on 5th and 6th January, at the DST Auditorium, University of Hyderabad.
The convention will exchange and discuss chapter reports, how to revive inactive chapters, and plan activities for the forthcoming year and how to spread the movement. There will be talks and concerts / lecture demonstrations held by exponents from the various fields of Indian performing arts like Pt. Birju Maharaj (Kathak), J Gurappa Chetty (Kalamkari), Sri Kalakrishna (Andhra Natyam) and Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana (Carnatic Vocal), as per the schedule below:
5th January
9:00am to 10:00am - Registration/breakfast
10:00am to 10:30am - Introductory session
10:30am to 11:15am - Inauguration; nadaswaram; address by State Coordinator; address by Dr. Kiran Seth; address by Dr. Seyed E. Hasnain (Chief Guest), Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad
11:15am to 11.30am - Tea break
11:30am to 1:00pm - Talk / conceptual session
1:00pm to 2:00pm - Lunch
2:00pm to 2:30pm - State Coordinator
