Every once in a while I stick my head out of the window and smile at the sky for a satellite picture, said stand-up comedian Stephen Wright, who obviously has a lot of time on his hands. Children in the city however, will have an actual reason to smile as they look up at the sky this weekend. To answer questions and raise a zillion doubts on the subject of space, the universe and everything, the Astrophysics Association of Pune will host a show of galactic proportions.
For the two days that the Sky Show will take place, every child in the twin-cities will be shown the secrets of space, how a telescope works and methods to calculate the distance between stars. No planet, including the latest one in the news, will be spared in this attempt to explain the cosmos to the kids. And they will also snatch a glimpse of Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons and other encounters of the faraway kind.
The schedule of the Sky Show is as follows:
Sunspot viewing - 10:30 am to 4:30 pm
Planet and moon viewing - 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Science and astronomy expo - 10:30 am to 9:30 pm
