If you are a Hyderabadi Bengali, who will your allegiance be most to - Hyderabad or Bengal? Neither - it's the navratris, and all our allegiance is to Devi!
The Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha is organising a 3-day Banga Sanskritik Utsab and 8-day Sorvojanin Durgotsab, from 22rd September to 2nd October, at the Keyes High School Grounds.
Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha is a association of Hyderabadi Bengalis, coming together on occasions of Bangla festivals, especially Durga Navratris. They organise the Navratris on a grand and traditional scale, with almost the whole Bangla population of the twin cities flocking to the venue for these once-in-a-year festivities.
On the occasion of the Navratris, one of the most important festivals of Bengal, the Bangiya Sanskritik Sangha is organising a 3-day Banga Sanskritik Utsav 2006, with a host of traditional Bengali programs and cultural events, to be inaugurated by Dr Geeta Reddy, Minister for Tourism, Sugar and Industry, Government of Andhra Pradesh, on 22nd September 6:30PM.
