REVIEW FOR SANKARA JAYANTHI AT PADMARAO...

Poorna Chandra Murthy, on the occasion of Sankara Jayanthi, is organising a Carnatic vocal musical concert on 9th May, at Asif Nagar. This concert is unique in that on this occasion, five Carnatic classical vocalists I V Sweta Prasad, Mantha Srinivas, Venu Madhav, Anasuya Murthy and Jagannatha Sharma will perform solo vocal concerts of about 30 minutes each. They will be accompanied by I V Renuka Prasad on the mridangam, Satyanarayana Sharma on the violin, and Sridharacharya on the ghatam. The program will begin at 6pm. Anasuya Murthy will render songs composed by saint Annamacharya
Venu Madhav will render compositions composed and written by Shyama Sastri
Mantha Srinivas will render compositions of saint Thyagaraja
M Jagannatha Sharma will render compositions of Deeshitar
I V Sweta Prasad will render compositions of Adi Sankaracharaya

Sri Jayendra Saraswati, the head of the Kanchi Kamakothi Peetham at Kanchipuram, will be the chief guest, and he will also deliver a discourse.
