Now let's face it. God made some people for haute couture and some he didn't. If you don't see why any piece of fabric should cost Rs. 20,000 (unless it has gold embroidery or something, and who wants that anyway), then this isn't a webpage for you. The good news is, most of the rest of this country is in the same bracket. The bad news is - er, you're not exactly rolling in the dough, are you?
Amita Ganeriwala of Kolkata is organizing a 2-day exhibition of garments under the label 'Raaga', where a variety of saris and salwar suits will be on display. The items are ensembles for casual and formal wear in flowing georgettes and crepes, cool cottons and voiles, crisp Kotas, chic organza and hand woven fabrics in myriad colors, and decorated with block prints, lace and delicate embroidery.
Garments of this label are already being retailed in upmarket stores in the various metros. In Hyderabad the label is being relaunched, and Amita Ganerjwala's sister Usha Badruka is helping out with this. The price ranges from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 20,000.
Please contact Amita or Usha Badruka at 360-8640 for further details.
