It's the season of college festivals, and for all the kids with sky-high confidence in their technical and extra-curricular skills, here's where the rubber meets the road.

QuBit '07, the national-level technical symposium of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, is being organised by students of the college on 27th and 28th February. Previously called Titan, the symposium has been renamed QuBit this year, and is aimed at providing an effective interface not only among students but also between the students and the corporate world.

This year, participants will be mired in a mayhem of competitions. They can try their hands in scintillating events like Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, Technical Hepthalon, Group Discussions, Treasure Hunts, cultural events and many more.

Compendia
A paper presentation event - students of all disciplines are invited to present their work and enhance their as well as others' knowledge with their erudition.

Heptathlon
A heptathlon is a series of events that tests the creative and innovative skills of the participants. The technical heptathlon is a 7-stage event where the participants are required to assemble a computer from scratch, perform some operations on it and then disintegrate it into the basic parts. The event aims to unveil the hardware and software prowess of the student.

HeadStart
HeadStart has been designed to foster the entrepreneurial spirit by calling out all those ideas to blaze a new trial. It provides a platform for students to unveil new approaches and ideas to reinvent and challenge the established norms.

Concurso Technico
A technical quiz that challenges the best brains in the country and tests the quizzing nerve. It's a two-stage event consisting of prelims and finals.

Splash
A poster presentation. As posters are an excellent medium to convey one's thoughts effectively, participants are required to exhibit innovative and creative ideas.

Treasure Trove
This is considered to be the most intriguing and commoving game, meant for all those with a truly adventurous spirit. The mission of the participant is to ferret out the treasure hidden online, through the maze of the Internet.

Technical Potpourri
This is an amalgamation of technical events with a cultural sting attached. Three parts, namely Technical Dumb Charades, Technical Pictionary and Reverse Pictionary, form the melange of events.

Verbal Combat
The group discussions are aimed at unveiling your inherent leadership qualities and communication skills.

U-Game
One of the most interesting and exciting events. Feel the adrenaline rush through you.

GenQui
Well, as the name says, it is a general quiz.

Encipher
A coding competition for the ITers. For budding programmers who are set to change the world with their programming skills, this one tests a programmer's edge and speed in coding. The program also has to be made free of howlers to get the upshot.
