One of the paintings here is called Understanding Universe. That's all there was to it, really. Wisecracks aside, however, it's easy to talk to Murali. Just by looking at his paintings.
An exhibition of abstract paintings by A M Murali is on from 19th February at the Shrishti Art Gallery. This collection of Murali comprises his recent works numbering 21 paintings, most done on his favorite medium of acrylic paints on canvas, and some with water colors on paper, using oil and dry pastels.
Most of the works are untitled, but some of them have interesting titles like Den, Eye Of The Needle, Waves, The Destination, Sword And Century and Understanding Universe, and are aimed at showcasing the sensitive approach of the artist and his color combination contrasts.
Murali was born in 1964 in Kerala, and is an MFA from the University Of Hyderabad. He received the Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of HRD for two years. He has participated in various exhibitions, like the DRDO Artists & Scientists Camp at Hyderabad, the ABC Art Gallery at Varanasi, the Silver Jubilee Exhibition at Cymroza Art Gallery Bombay, the Alliance Francaise at Hyderabad and Goa, and the Daira Art Gallery at Hyderabad.
The exhibition is on till 4th of March. For further details, please contact the art gallery at 2354-0023/2360-7151.
