On the occasion of the 164th birth anniversary of saint Thyagaraja, as well as the 34th anniversary of the samithi, Vignana Samithi is organising its annual Thyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival from 24th to 30th January at the Anand Nagar Community Hall, Khairatabad.

On 27th January, V R Dileep will present a Carnatic vocal recital at 7:00pm. He will be accompanied by Dwaram Satyanarayana Rao on the violin, P Jaya Bhaskar on the mridangam and R Srikanth on the kanjira.

V R Dileep Kumar, a young vocalist in the Carnatic music arena, is a disciple of veteran musician Mangad Natesan. He holds the record of receiving an A Grade from AIR at the first audition test itself at a very young age. He is also the recipient of CCRT Scholarship. He was the 1st rank holder while doing his M A in music from Kannur University, and is currently pursuing his Ph D in music.

Vignana Samithi, which is in its 34th year of existence, tries to propagate classical music by organising music concerts every month. It provides a platform for upcoming artistes by giving them opportunities to perform, and at the same time, gets senior artistes to perform and conduct workshops. Many senior artistes have performed for the organisation, including Dr. Balamurali Krishna, the Malladi Brothers, the Hyderabad Brothers and Sankaranarayanan.
