The One Goal Chess Academy is organising the Madhavrao Sadasivarao Golwalkar Open Prize Money Chess Tournament from 23rd to 25th December, at Sri Padmavathi Srinivasa Kalyana Mandapam, Dilsukhnagar. Spot entries and registrations will be accepted.
In the open category, 50 prizes totalling to an amount of Rs. 50,000 are up for grabs, with the winner pocketing Rs. 10,000 and the last prize being Rs. 400.
To take advantage of the Christmas vacations, there will be a special category for school children (only amateurs) in the age groups of 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15 years. Matches will be held on 23rd and 24th December. The winners and the participants in this category will not be given any prize money - instead, cups, medals and goodies will be awarded.
The registration fee in the open category is Rs. 300 per head for adults, Rs. 200 for veterans, women and disabled persons, and Rs. 150 for school children.
One Goal Chess Academy provides intensive customised training to all budding chess masters. The concept of One Goal is that a person should be decided on the one goal he wishes to achieve, and the academy helps him get there. I Amarnath (an international FIDE-rated player) is the promoter of this academy.
