The Department of Horticulture is organising the 10th Annual Nursery Mela, from 11th to 15th August, at the People's Plaza grounds on Necklace Road. This eagerly awaited exhibition provides a platform for nursery owners, horticulturists, florists and farmers to interact among themselves, with plant lovers and with the general public.
About 125 stalls from Maharastra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Karnataka, Goa and the Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh, will put on display about 1,500 varieties of plants. Irrigation systems, greenhouses and accessories, bio-fertilizers, garden tools and accessories, seeds, pesticides and tissue culture plants will also be exhibited.
This year, too, Nursery Village from Kadiyam, East Godavari, which is famous for production of ornamental and fruit plants throughout the country, will put up a big stall - for the 5th straight year.
