Shrishti Art Gallery is organising an exhibition of paintings and drawings by R Subash Babu, from 3rd to 15th August. The works are figurative and women-oriented drawings and paintings done on the different media of acrylic paints on paper, ink and water colors.
Numbering about 30, these drawings and paintings delicately capture the women in different moods - chatting, in discussion, among a group or alone, thinking or shy. All these have been elegantly been brought on to canvas.
Subash Babu was born in 1945 at Guntur, and completed his Diploma in Fine Arts from College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad in 1968. He is the recipient of the Lalit Kala Scholarship to learn Mural Painting. He has participated in various solo shows since 1969, at the Lalita Kala Academy in Hyderabad & Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad Art Society, Cental Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi, and Regional Centre in Chennai.
He received the Bharat Kala Parishad Award of Hyderabad in 1986, Rajaji Memorial Award in 1997, Lalit Kala Academy of Orissa in 1984, Lalit Kala Samithi of Siddipet in 1994 and Award from AIFACS in 2000.
